Easy Peasey Mince Pie Buns

It's not easy being a domestic goddess!

But if you want to win favour with your family and friends ...... make these Easy Peasey Mince Pie Buns.

I take some pie buns around to Squirrel's gaff every year and she is always impressed, especially when I tell a little fib and make out that I've made them from scratch!  Hee hee

Get yourself the following ingredients:

A jar or two of mince meat.
500g ready-made puff pastry.
Flour for dusting.
Icing sugar, for sprinkling on top.
Edible glitter .... if you are really posh.
Then .......

Preheat the oven to 190C - Gas mark 5.
Cut the pastry in half and roll half out at a time.  Roll the pastry out thinly on a lightly floured board.

Cut the pastry in to 6 equal squares. Place spoonfuls of the filling mixture onto the centre of each square.

Pull the pastry up around the filling, squish twist the edges together.

Turn over the pie bun and press it down a little bit.  Put on to a greased baking tray.

Cut a little cross in the top of each pie bun to let the heat out when cooking.

Put the pie buns in the oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until they are golden brown!

Allow to cool on a cooling rack and dust with icing sugar and edible glitter!

I used my special edible stars on mine!

I've been busy getting the house ready for Christmas.

Twenty quid down the local garden centre .... BARGAIN!

Hmm ... a bit high up here!

Getting in the loft to find my vintage balls .......

Blimey ... look at the mess up here ...
I'll be lucky if I get out before Christmas!

Decorating the tree .......

Balls ... CHECK

Reindeer ... CHECK

Horsey .... CHECK

More balls ...... CHECK

Flippin' worn out after that!

This can go under the tree ... my first present ...
from Ivor down the cafe!

No rest for Charlie Fox though, in a decorating frenzy I decided to decorate the mantel piece too ........

Yep ...... pretty pleased with that!

Thought I would show you my groovy new boots that I picked up whilst buying the Christmas tree ...

Liking the whole matching 'scarf/boots' ensemble!

Icing the cake ..........

I made some marzipan fruits and Reindeers then decorated it with Squirrels and Robins ......

Hanging up the cards ........

Received from my lovely friends .....

A bit of Christmas shopping .......

Think I'll get these for my mate Squirrel ....
you can never have enough pants in my opinion!

Finally ...... a sit down with a good read!

Gonna use these techniques to see if I can negotiate with Santa.
I'm hoping for a few sausages as well has a box of mince pies !

Christmas Market

Animal Aid Christmas Fayre

Well ..... the snow and freezing temperatures didn't stop me ...... here's me on the train to London Town with my handmade goodies for the Fox Project stall.

Got my woolly scarf on ... so I'm okay!

Passing the time watching the snow!

The trains were 'all over the shop' ....... got to the fayre with 10 minutes to spare before opening ..... just enough time to help put out my decorations!

The Fox Project stall ...... looking pretty groovey!

Some of our volunteer rescuers dressed up as foxes and with collection buckets in hand, faced to cold to try and raise a few more pennies!

Well done chaps!

£400 collected in all!

I bought some lovely stuff at the fayre ......

A nice foxy pin for my scarf ..........

A fab' foxy dish ...........

Some little handmade gift bags ....... just checking out
how they are put together ...... might try making a few of these myself!

And a couple of lavender smelly hanging
cat thingies ..... these would look great as foxes!
I might try designing a pattern to make some
foxy versions!

But best of all ...... met up with a few mates and had a good laugh.

One of my best friends Tracie gave me a really special present!

My very own portrait!

All in all a really great day ...... and we managed to raise £1587.69 which we will be saving to fund next year's cub season!

And there will be lots to look after!
