Spring has Sprung !!!!!!!!!!

Has anyone noticed the weather's on the turn in 'Old Blighty'?

Charlie Fox has decided that although it's still February, the warmer weather is a sure indication that Spring has officially arrived!!!

So to celebrate he's bought a Daffodil from the Marie Curie Cancer Care people.

Here's me on the way out to the countryside to find
some signs of spring!
Snowdrops ........ Yep deffo!

Having a few minutes quiet contemplation on the river bank.

There's nothing like the sounds of trickling water and the smell of
flowers in bloom to reawaken the senses after a long winter!

That's enough nature for one day ....... time to hit the antique shops for a bit of artistic inspiration!

Spring flowers in a tea cup ..... fab idea!

Charlie sized trumpet ....... nice ......... but a bit steep at 8 quid!

Somehow I've managed to end up in the shopping basket.
Quite comfy if it wasn't for the vintage buttons sticking up my bum!
(Will explain later ...... )

Menu Please!!!!!!!!!!!

Jacket spud with cheese and chutney ..... nice!

You can get rid of this green stuff though!

Home James .... and don't spare the horses!

Ooooh tunnel ........ LOVE TUNNELS!

Tunnels ...... tea cups ...... tunnels ....... tea cups ..........

STOP !!!!!!!! ........ HORSE IN ROAD !!!!!!!!!!

Back home and time to sort out my purchases.

Got a heap of old buttons and beads for just
under a fiver and a job lot of candles for 2 quid!

The buttons and beads can be used on another project ....... but here's what I've done with the candles ........

Floated them in some old tea cups!

After a long day I'm ready to snuggle down under the
duvet cover that I bought in the same shop as the candles ......
....... I can almost smell those Spring flowers!

Cub season is nearly upon us ............ if you liked this blog, please consider donating a few pennies to my favourite charity THE FOX PROJECT xx

On the Make!

Dark days and cold weather ...... January and February are not the best months of the year for outdoor activities .......... and there's only so much reading about sheep and listening to Harry Secombe one can stomach before you start to go a little stir crazy ........

........ but the lull of events in my social calendar have given me some spare time to make 'stuffs' to sell in my little CHARLIE FOX MISSION Etsy Craft Shop!

I started out with a bit of evening crochet .......

Having to share the sofa with the cat!

Amazing what you can make by just knotting some coloured yarn together .....

I put my blanket in my little Etsy shop and was dead chuffed to learn that it had been bought by fellow artist Ciara Healy .......

This is Ciara's website http://www.ciarahealy.com

She makes wonderful art books full of beautiful illustrations ...... here is her 'bird' book .....

...... and here's sneaky peak at an illustration from Ciara's latest book about her little white dog .......

Next up, what to do with my old tin of vintage buttons ...........

Invented a fun game of 'hide and sniff' - a foxy variation of hide and seek, plant sweets in the tin, shake it up and then sniff them out ....... but that soon got boring and I started to feel a bit sick after the tenth go!

Time for something a bit more creative!

Vinage button valentines love hearts ..........

Each one different ...... a must for every home!

I've already sold a few in my little Etsy shop ...... check it out as there still may be some available .........

I always try to send a card with my orders ...... it's only polite to say thanks and let people know how much their purchases are appreciated!

I'm in the middle of making some more foxy stuff to sell ....... but that will have to wait until my next blog, as I've not quite finished.

In the mean time ....... I'll leave you with a few snaps of my journey down to Ciara's house to deliver the blanket ...........

Nice sunny day, but these country lanes are a bit bumpy .....
I can feel myself slipping off the dash!

Whaaaaa !!!!!!!!!!
No one open the side window or I'm a goner!

A quick stop off at the petrol garage ...........

Hmmm ...... that looks interesting!

I'm going in !!!!!!!!!!!!

And finally ....... a bit of news about our latest casualty down at The Fox Project.

This poor fella came in the same day as I delivered the blanket ......... he's got an injured back leg and a nasty wound on his side.  We are not sure how he came to get these injuries but he does have one puncture wound on his side, so he may have been bitten by a dog ........ a bit dehydrated and disorientated ....... Fox Project are doing all they can to get this poor chap back on the road to recovery!

Thanks for reading ...... Love Charlie Fox  xx
