Charlie's Walk for Wildlife

Well here it is .... the long awaited photo blog of my 6 mile 'Walk for Wildlife'

With £419 worth of sponsor money for the new Fox Project Intensive Care Unit riding on my tail ..... I better not fluff this one up!

Here's me arriving with my trusty compass at
The Broadwater Wildlife Hospital site

It's going to be a fantastic place for wildlife when it's finished!

Ooo ..... nice camper!
As you can see the site was once a nursery,
here's where the old poly tunnels used to be.

RIGHT enough chit chat ...... team Fox Project are go!

All we have to do is follow the little white markers.

TEAM FOX PROJECT ... Terry, Lucy, Scott, Dave,
Oscar the Dog,
and my personal camera person!

Elderflower Bonbon .........
Don't mind if I do Terry ...............

Terry is awfully posh!

Luckily the rain is holding off!

First spot of scientific interest ... giant ant hills.
Better watch where I am putting my tail!

Beautiful Kentish Countryside

The Decoy Pond
Legend has it that if you kiss a frog from
this pond you will turn in to royalty!

I'm 'outta' here!!!!!!!!!

Oscar's in .....
Arise Prince Oscar!

Obviously an Elephant clearing!

Lucy is looking for signs of Elephant dung.

Found a nice spongy spot for a sit down.

Second spot of scientific interest ........
giant sandstone outcrops!

These are the Eridge Rocks.

Home to over 150 varieties of ferns, mosses and lichens .........

Truly amazing ........

Hmm ....... nice fern!

The High Weald is home to the only sandstone
outcrops in South East England ... fan-foxy-tastic!

The 3 mile half way marker and a short detour to the pub!

Bit posh 'round 'ere!  DING DONG Avon calling!

I had a quick play on the little vintage pub
tractor whilst Dave got the beers in!

Cosy!

Add your own caption!

Second leg of the walk .....
thought I might hitch a ride with Prince Oscar!

Didn't go quite to plan!

Oh well ...... back to using the old legs!

Can't be far now!

Ooo .... wild Foxgloves ... lovely!

Farming stuff .....

This looks a bit too familiar .......
Seems my trusty old compass is a bit on the rubbish side,
must have come out of a Christmas cracker!

I'm starting to like Scott's idea of calling a cab ...
trouble is, we have no idea where we are!

Ah ha ..... I recognize this bit .... the home straight!

Whey hey Broadwater ........ DONE IT !!!!!!!!

Queue for the toilet ..... typical !!!!

Luckily Sue and Sandra were waiting back
at base camp with a lovely hot brew and
a delicious selection of yummy cakes.

TEAM FOX PROJECT .... were the last ones back ... Ooops!

Oscar ..... eyeing up the cakes!

He thinks he's earned quite a few!

Here's me ..... asleep in front of my certificate!

And last but by no means least ...... I would like to thank all the lovely people who sponsored me on my walk.  And what you've all been waiting for ..... the results of my sponsor prize draw!

Here's the list of everyone who sponsored me:

And here's the winner:

Well done SALLY!

I'm keeping the raffle tickets in the cake tin for now.....
if it turns out that I've got the most sponsors,
then I will have a lovely 'Fox Adoption' pack
to give away too .... so watch this space!
TEAM FOX PROJECT ..... were not the only people to walk for Fox Project ..... and I would like to thank all the other supporters for walking for us!
